Richard Koch, CPA

The quality of the work we do here at Gray, Gray & Gray is of paramount importance. Critical data and business intelligence demands the utmost in precision and accuracy. That makes Richard Koch’s job as our Director of Quality Control an essential function.

Richard is tasked with ensuring our audit work meets strict American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) quality control standards. He does this by overseeing implementation of accounting pronouncements, keeping our audit staff apprised of professional standards, helping them maintain professional proficiency while meeting regulatory requirements, and monitoring continuing education (CPE) compliance.

Richard serves as Engagement Quality Reviewer on the majority of the firm’s audits, is responsible for the administration of the firm’s peer reviews, and manages our participation in the AICPA’s Audit Quality Control Center. 

Before joining Gray, Gray & Gray in 2018, Richard spent 12 years as an audit partner with regional CPA firms, including 6 years as an office managing partner, 9 years with a “Big 4” national firm as a senior manager, and also served as director of financial reporting for a Fortune 200 company.

He is a graduate of Gettysburg College, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, with a specialty in Accounting. Richard is a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
